wheres the attitude coming from . im here to try and help and lean , not be a jerk off like your being. i think i made some valid points . but theres no need for your douchebaggery. meanwhile , this is a hydroponic video , so i thought id share some input. this is what trying to be helpfull to someone gets me. maybe YOU should try to keep up, with the topic. BRAH…. im talkin ppm, and i need to catch up. please…punk
saturation into soil isnt consistant , try your meter in 6 different spots in any given container, and theyll be different, again , i like to have consistancy and cleanlyness and know 100% what is truely being injested by my plants, so yeah , like it or not , i stick to my original statement that you 90% agreed with , also , did you weigh your soil , how did your math last the life of the soil , compensating for loss of nutes through run off. what were they replaced with. call me out..LOL
obviously you have an inferiority complex, have fun with that , again , im a cool ass mother fucker trying to share with someone else, and oyu have to jump in as if your right, better , or super hip on all the new methods.. your none of the above, your no better than anyone else, and i guess your too stuborn and closed minded to accept someone elses methods ideas. sorry you can tollerate different methods. pretty sad.
@Erikhaos Fail. In most cases, depending on climate, you won’t need to water certain plants separate from natural rainfall once they are well established (2 weeks?). In fact, tomatoes in particular do BEST when not watered frequently, it encourages the roots to grow deeper (rather than staying near the surface), looking for water that’s already there and making it more drought-resistant…. It’s not like it’s NOT gonna rain cuz you’re not growing something in the ground, so might as well use it.
Hey..I know this thread is hella old but may i ask what was your tds(ppm)measurment on your feedings.I am having some yellow spots and my ppm is 1200 plants are about 7 inches tall using fox farm.Mabe i should use some calmag but just curiouse as i may be over feeding……..ps some of these guys arnt that smart and have no clue to hydro. If they dont understad maybe they should ask and learn instead of beeing the child that powts and puts people down because they dont understand or get it.buhew?
@samljer Depends on the soil and the science in which manufactures take all the guess work out for people like you. They ph it for you.And ph in soil has a wider range for uptake by your plants. You can not get an accurate reading unless you do a vial test by mixing soil with water then use ph strip or quality ec ppm with paper not the electrode as you need more open area of liquide for accurate test
@palui At first it seems that way,but if you get a quality 2-3 part nute all the quess work is taken out and all you have to do is follow the instructions.A good ppm meter and ph strips plus good meter.Try stealth hydro they have a complete dummy kit.I would highly recomend for beginers.Once you do hydro you will see the many benifits it has over soil:]
@MattyTheMole Hey I like your avatar lol.Makes a nice luar if you were fishing for whitey lol…I think I have it figuered out.I was just going by the FF feeding chart.I have allready swiched the light to 12-12 and plants are about 18 inches I have been keeping my ppm around 700.The only Issue I have now is leaf roll but Ive been hearing that it is normal in some streins of plant. But it still bothers me I may add some cal mag and see if this helps.
@justmerich Sounds like a mag issue, but also consider your light may be to close to the plant and if you have the chart just follow what the chart says week by week and that will give you the right ppm’s. 700 seems alittle low for being on 12/12 lighting schedule. I have only used fox farm soil and a organic mixture of my own with iguana juic. If this your first time or first few times consider using vegetables for practice.
@MattyTheMole My lighting is good Plants like 700ppm leaves are nice even forest green. When I start to see fruit I will bump it up a little.I am using the complet line of FF.Right now have a mix of 2tsp tiger bloom,Table spoon bloom, and a quarter tsp of open sesami along with a drop of superthrive per gallon.PPM comes out to 730-750.I also have a 3 inch tall sweet pepper in same res its also handling this mix nicely. Not sure think its just the strein of tomato plant.
Yes this is a veggie grow lol.If it were something else my feedings would be half this.Yes I think I am going to add some cal mag.FF seems light on the mag and tomato plants like the extra calcium. There not to into nitrogen.
@MattyTheMole Gonja nutes would be less depending on strein. But if i were growing a hardy say skunk strein in hydro I would start my ppms at 100-200 for veg and raise it 50 parts to 100 parts per week until leat tips turn yellew then I would step back and add some omni water to res.But if I were making a mix for soil I would water every other day with nutes and a higher ppm.Or if my plant was a cristmas tree then yes I would be up to 1500-1600.But indoor were only talking 3-4 ft
@MattyTheMole I am Turttle in the high times journal forums when it comes to herb. This was my first hydro grow I forgot to mension my resevoirs are a about 1 gallon res for each plant filled to bottom of basket. This may be why they are using a lower ppm.If I were growing 4 plants in a single 10 gallon res My ppm may be more not sure but probuble.

Wrong, these new digital meters are 99.5% accurate.
the new ones use 3 dipoles and measure current.
Again. its a NEW technology, try to keep up.
this isnt new technology , im not new to this. your a jerk off. end of conversation .
the device and method used to get the PH reading IS a new technology.
Theres an older device, which was not as reliable.
your an asshat. who lives in the dark.
now its the end

Dood, thats what i just said to you, fuck off
save money, grow in dirt
save forest and fauna, grow hydroponic
save the water, (hydroponic uses 1/10 of the water used in soil agriculture)

great project!
its a good idea but kinda seems liek a waste you can do the same stuff cheaper if you jsut do a little manual labor and put it in dirt

@samljer There not accurate and you still need to make a hole and saturate it with water to even get close to an accurate reading?

@justmerich wow! try 1040 but flush first
@justmerich Did the hydro store guys give you a feeding chart?

@justmerich Oh I see. I thought you were growing ganja which yes your ppm’s need would need to be raised.
